90^th Birthday Anniversary of Ama Wager

Ama Wager la, as it is dearly and fondly called by Tibetans in exile, is celebrating her 90th birthday this year. On this momentous event, His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Central Tibetan Relief Committee wishes her the warmest birthday ever. We would like to take this opportunity to convey our deep heartfelt gratitude for the amount of sacrifice and selfless services she dedicated to our community.

Ama la had long and special enduring relation with CTRC. She has worked for nearly 30 years. During that long stint she remain totally committed to her work in uplifting the basic living standard of poor and downtrodden people of our society. Broadly, she has played an instrumental role in the development of our core sectors like education and health by sponsoring children's education and providing necessary support and stipend for the poor and needy elders. It is however very sad to learn that she is retiring from the office this year. We would therefore immensely miss the opportunity to contact her personally and revere and relish her undying love and affection. But we are also equally gratified by the services of Mr. Manfred Ochudlo and his colleague who are working in the Ama la?s office for their unrelenting support and dedication for the cause of very poor and downtrodden people of our society. At the same time we would like to convey our heartfelt good wishes to Mrs. Hedei Meyer as a newly appointed Chairwoman of the German Aid to Tibetans. Finally, we wish Ama la all the very best and pray for her long and prosperous life ahead.
