His Holiness the Dalai Lama to visit Delhi & Europe

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit Delhi, Spain, France, Germany and the Czech Republic on a 19-day tour scheduled from October 5 to 23, 2003.

On October 6th, His Holiness will be participating in a full day of engagements organized by Tibet House New Delhi. The day will begin with a public discourse by His Holiness at Buddha Jayanti Park followed by a Chanting Festival featuring chants from various religious traditions. Shri Jagmohan, Honorable Minister of Culture & Tourism, Government of India will be the Guest of Honor. In the afternoon His Holiness will attend a conference at the India International Center titled Meeting of Cultures:Spiritual Ways of Sustainable and Non Aggressive Living which will again feature representatives from various religious traditions. His Holiness will address the audience at the conclusion of the Conference.

On October 7th His Holiness will arrive in the Madrid, Spain. On October 8th morning He will address a Conference being organized by Club Siglo XXI on the topic Secular Ethics. Later in the afternoon, His Holiness will speak at the Club of Madrid on the topic A Human Approach to World Peace. On October 9th His Holiness will receive the Foundation Jaime Brunet Prize for the Protection of Human Rights. In the afternoon, a public talk on Universal Responsibility is scheduled at Prince Felipe Auditorium.

His Holiness will arrive in Paris on October 10th. From October 11th to 17th, His Holiness is scheduled to be giving 7 days of Buddhist teachings. On October 11th and 12th His Holiness will give a teaching on Introduction to Buddhism. On October 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th His Holiness will give teachings on Nagarjuna's Commentary on Bodhichitta & Praising the Emptiness. On October 17th morning His Holiness will confer the Mitrukpa Initiation. Besides the main teaching programs, on September 11th afternoon His Holiness will participate in a program being organized by Madame Mitterand's Association France Liberte.

His Holiness arrives in Berlin, Germany on October 17th afternoon. On October 18th His Holiness has a public talk on Living Freedom Securing Peace scheduled at Humboldt University being organized jointly by the University and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. His Holiness arrives in Prague, Czech Republic on October 18th where He will address the inauguration ceremony of the 4th International Tibet Support Group Conference. In the afternoon His Holiness will participate in an inter-religious dialogue being organized by FORUM 2000 with former Czech President Vaclav Havel participating. His Holiness departs Europe for India on October 21st and arrives in Dharamsala on October 23rd
