Dharamshala: The Tibetan Parliament-in-exile hosted a dinner reception in honour of Shri K. S. Sudarshan, chief of the Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and delegations of the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) yesterday at the Gangkyi Staff Mess.

The delegation comprising of over 60 members from various parts of India gathered here to attend BTSM's National Conference on Tibet.

Addressing the occasion, Mr. Sudarshan said the Tibetan people's struggle for a peaceful solution will not prove unproductive. Truth always triumphs over evil, he said, citing examples of Indian epics Mahabharat and Ramayan.

Mr Sudarshan said Israeli exiles after more than 1800 years could return to their land and their struggle for freedom is the greatest inspiration to the Tibetan people's struggle. However, he said he believes that the Tibetan struggle will not have to wait 1800 years to bear fruition.

Mr. Prem Kumar Dhumal, former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh and the leader of Bharatya Janta Party, underlined the connection between India and Tibet's security. India's biggest threat today is from Himalayas and therefore if Tibet is not secure, India too will not be secure, said Mr. Dhumal.

Mr Indresh Kumar introduced the delegates and workings of the RSS.

The speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile, Karma Choephel, in his welcome speech thanked the Indian government and all other host countries where the Tibetans could preserve their culture and carry forward their peaceful struggle.

Present at the reception were two justice commissioners of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, speaker and the deputy speaker of the Tibetan exile parliament, Kalon Tsering Phuntsok, Kalon for the Department of Religion and Culture, and standing committee members of the exile parliament.

The delegation yesterday called on His Holiness the Dalai Lama and had dialogue with him for about 50 minutes. They also met Gyalwa Karmapa.

Today they will meet Kalon Tripa, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche.
