Representatives to meet here for annual meeting

Dharamshala: The representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama will meet here at the Department of Information and International Relations Hall for a three-day annual meeting from 23-25 October.

Besides the representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Liaison Officer for Latin America will attend the meeting.

Kalon Tripa, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche will deliver the opening address.

The last year's annual meeting of the representatives was held in Edinburgh right before the 4th World Parliamentarians’ Convention on Tibet held there on 18 and 19 November 2005.

The representative offices based in 10 countries are in New Delhi, India; New York, USA; Geneva, Switzerland; Tokyo, Japan; London, UK; Canberra, Australia; Paris, France; Moscow, Russia; Pretoria, South Africa; and Taipei, Taiwan.

However, the representatives in Tokyo and South Africa will not be able to attend the annual meeting because of the need for their presence in their countries for the forthcoming visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Before the representatives' meeting, a two-day meeting of the Task Force will be held here on 21 and 22 October.
