3) Tibetan Unicode Fonts: (To read my Tibetan web-pages)

[ Click on the link below to download Tibetan Unicode Fonts ]

if you already have any of these Tibetan unicode fonts - "monlam uni ouchan series, microsoft himalaya, tcrc youtso unicode, tibetan machine uni, tib-us unicode in your computer just click on this small Tibetan flag >    to see my Tibetan Webpages, otherwise you first need to install some Tibetan Unicode Fonts. You can either install "monlam 3" (all the fonts in Monlam 3 are unicode fonts) from www.lobsangmonlam.org OR click on this ZIP icon >   to download the Tibetan Unicode Fonts in ZIP format and [ here ] in RAR format. Unzip them in a separate folder. Then go to C:drive > Windows > Fonts > File menu and select "Install New Fonts" option > select the folder in which you have un-zipped the fonts and click OK to install. Thats it! The primary font I have used in my pages is "monlam uni ouchan1". But it will

From my experience, you can view the webpages with Tibetan Unicode Fonts very well in GOOGLE CHROME browser. It automatically wraps the lines where it should. IE and Mozilla sometime do not wrap your paragraphs properly. They stretch the paragraph in one line extending beyond the limit of your screen. Perhaps it must have got to do with brower's version or perhaps with the resolution of your screen. In any case you can check out for yourself. On my own Desktop computer (Intel Core 2 Duo, IGB RAM, TFT with 1440x900 resolution) where I developed all these web-pages (English and Tibetan), I did not face any problem. The browsers I tested are:

  1. Google Chrome v3.0.195.33
  2. Safari v4
  3. IE v8
  4. Mozilla v3.5.3

They all show the text and paragraphs within its limit! Opera do have some problem with stacked letters.

Finally, Copy-paste Usp10.dll in the following paths:

  • C:\WINDOWS\System32\
  • C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\
  • C:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox\

Usp10.dll helps rendering Tibetan unicode fonts to display more smoothly and correctly. This will also enable any of your windows application make use of the Tibetan Machine Unicode.
