[ YES Skill training circular for 2009-2010 ]

The home department of the Central Tibetan Administration has announced skill training on job-oriented courses for the unemployed Tibetan youths. The training will commence in December 2009.

The training will be held at Institute for Small Trade Learning in Neelamangalam in Bangalore, South India. Those interested in doing the training should register before 30th October at their respective settlement offices.

Employment generating courses, including diploma program in hair styling, medical transcription, certificate in retail execution (salesman), combined fast track in beauty therapy, hair dressing, carpentry and tailoring, would be offered.

Besides beauty therapy, carpentry and tailoring, medical transcription today has become a well-paid and highly demanded job. A beginner starts with a monthly income of around Rs. 8000/- and as the speed and skill improves, the earnings will increase accordingly.

Technological oriented courses, such as diploma in computer engineering, certificate in mobile phone technology, diploma in electrical engineering, certificate in photography, certificate in multi-media, diploma in hardware and network engineering and Microsoft certified in system engineering, would be taught at the training.

The trainees can get a plethora of employment scopes, including setting up mechanic shops for solving electrical, mechanical problems in the settlements, computer centres for photographic, web-design works and media publishing.

Course Name:	DIPLOMA PROGRAM IN HAIR STYLING (སྐྲ་བཟོ།)
Duration:	6 months.
Eligibility:	Class V passed

COURSE BRIEF CONTENTS:
Hair structures, skin & scalp disorders, health in salon, consultation, etiquette, retailing, hairdressing tools, long hairdressing equipments, roller setting, shampoos, conditioners, treatment, methodology, blowdry, technical, and various cuts.

SCOPE: He/She can set-up own hair salon, or join popular brands like L'Oreal, Clairol, Wella, TIGI starting as a Shampooist and modest apprentice to Junior and Senior Hair Stylist, and one can also make it to fashion and Film world.

Course Name:	MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION (སྨན་བཅོས་སྙན་ཐོ་ཡིག་བྲིས།) (It is transcribing/typing of medical records that have been dictated by the Doctors)
Duration:	5 months (4 months class + 1 month on-job training)
Eligibility:	Class X passed

COURSE BRIEF CONTENTS:
Will be trained in Medicine, English, Computers, Typing, Medical Transcription, Americanism & Listening skills.

SCOPE:
Medical Transcription today could start earning anything between Rs. 8,000/- to Rs. 10,000.00 per month, and for a good performer, the sky is the limit.

He/She can set-up his/her own beauty parlour, or get employed in beauty industries.

Ladies Blouse, Chupa & Coat, Gents Shirt & Chupa, Mo-Chupa, Formal Shirt & Pant, School Uniform Skirt, Salwar Kurta, Estimation of cloth requirements, General Maintenance of sewing machines, Stitching by Hand: Running, Button Hole, Hamming, Traditional Button Knot etc. Stitching by Machine(straight, curved, cornered) Door Screen, Window Shampo, Various types of bags & purses, Industrial visits.

SCOPE: He/She can set-up own Tailoring shop, or get job in Tailoring industries.

Duration:	5 months (2 months class + 3 month practical)
Eligibility:	Class V passed & above 18 years of age.

Workshop equipments, safety precautions, heat & temperature, pressure, two & four stroke vehicles, petrol & diesel engine vehicles, engine construction & parts, systems of automobile vehicles, two wheeler mechanism, basic electricity and units, Ohm's law, battery & ignitions system & types, staring meters, gauges & wiring circuits of lights & gauges, auto air conditioning, servicing, etc.
